.-1 -.-4-4 .xi The preparation for the 1986-87 Book N was very messy - as you can see. Between advisor Connie Hawkins, Debbie Cain and editor Lori Graves they figured out that there is a lot more to splattering paint than meets the eye. The idea for the cover was originated from the en- tire staff and designed by advisor Connie Hawkins and editor Lori Graves. The writing on the cover was air brushed by Al Armstrong of Graphic Communications Group. We all hope that this year's publication will help paint some memories of your 1986- 87 school year. 242 1 Book N Preparation Q.-.: M s iv' K' ve' sift, fyfxf' 2? n 1 'X 1 Q -5f..'-? a a 6 df 'L .4'ofufz4vmQmae4 As editor it is a big relief' that the Book N staff and l are able to present to you Book N 1987 Painting Memories. l hope that in our long hours of hard work we were able to cap- ture the memories most memorable to each and every one of you. Painting Memories is a theme that was derived from the many ideas of each staff member. Through our numerous brain storms the Book N staff and l have tried to incorporate into this book the school spirit as well as capture all the unforgettable times for the whole student body. l would like to express my appreciation to Student Council and their advisor Mrs.Claudette Brown, Hardy Meredith, Graphic Communications Group, the student body, faculty, members of the Nacogdoches commumity, and Dennis Clark our Taylor Represen- tative for all their time, support and assistance in making this year's publication a big suc- cess. A very special thank you goes out to my staff for all their hard work and long hours even at the most unbearable times. Also to my advisor, Ms. Connie Hawkins, for a crazy and challenging year. We have been through three Book N publications together - it has been fun, and you have really taught me a lot. You have been a great advisor as well as a wonder- ful friend to the entire staff. A final and most important thank you goes to my family for all their support and patience and for putting up with my difficult moods during those never ending annual deadlines. You've been really great throughout my high school years. lt has been great to be a part of this school and the Book N. Thank you for making the 1986-87 school year one that will forever remain in my memory. Editor's Note 1 241

Also we would like to thank Hardy Meredith, Daily Sentinel photographer, for helping take the pictures for the cover and division pages. The staff really ap- preciates both of you. Thanks Duke I 243
