Wim Kang Eames This is the last year for Miss Eddie Mae King to serve as NHS' librarian. She will be retiring after 41 years of service to NISD. Miss King is looking forward to retirement but says, l will miss the students, faculty, and staff. Miss King has been opening the library doors at 7:30 a.m. for the past 25 years. Her average work-day ended around 4:00 p.m., long after most students had gone home for the day. Miss King was born in Woden and has lived in Nacogdoches county ever since. She even attended NHS. Sheitaught school at Nettie Mar- shall Elementary for 18 years before becoming a librarian. After retiring, Miss King plans to spend her time doing geneology work. She loves to read, and she belongs to several organizations. She is president of the local PTA, TSTA, and the Delta Kappa Sigma Chapter. She is the PTA district vice- president and CTA district chairman. Miss King's hard work and assistance to students and teachers alike will be greatly missed. 238 l Retirement an 55 INDI X Q. ef: -gg .- Miss. King has had many duties as NHS librarian. She typed cards for the card catalog, kept up the inven- tory for all the audio visual equipment and most im- portantly assisted many students in their research for various classes.
