Though quiet and friendly in manner, james has a record of high achievements academically and has brought honors to himself and his school. He serves in National Honor Society, in Art Club, and as pianist for school activities. lt is students like James that give us pleasure now and hope for a brighter future. Whois Who t I Perry Grimes will be remembered for his sin- cerity, his friendliness, and for his willingness to serve. He has a ready smile for all, and has en- deared himself to both students and teachers. Demonstrating outstanding leadership ability in both school and community affairs, Perry's mot- to seems to be: The reward of a thing well done is to have done it. A true gentleman and a scho- lar, his intelligence, kindness and great talent will lead him toward success in life. Quiet, unassuming, and talented, that's Kerry Horn. A sincere young man, dedicated to high principles, Kerry has made his mark in the halls of NHS. With his friendly smile and pleasant dis- position toward all people, Kerry has carved his niche with students and teachers alike. Service has been given in many ways by Kerry. As a .lunior, he served as President of the Student Body. As a Senior he has been President of the Chorale, on the Varsity lootball team, and Stu- dent Council Representative. His fellow students honored him by electing him Mr. NHS this year. He also plays baseball and is an active member of the First Baptist Church. Kerry's future, whether in music or coaching, will combine attributes of honor, integrety, and concern for others. 207

Lisa Beall's smile and genuine friendliness are lwo qualities that have endeared her to both stu- dents and teachers at NHS. ln her untiring efforts as an outstanding cheerleader, she has faithfully supported our Dragons for four years at NHS. ln addition to her leadership qualities out- side the classroom, Lisa has also written an en- viable academic record. With such versatile con- tributions to her credit, it is fitting that this darkhaired beauty be chosen to receive the coveted title of Miss NHS. 206 Who's Who Nacogdoches High School salutes Tom Drig- gers, West Point Cadet-To-Be. As he leaves us, we are the richer for having known him. He epitomizes solidarity, Congeniality, and scholar- ship. Furthermore, he shares his talents with all around him. He has consistently and compe- tently represented his school and his peers in competition, with outstanding success in public speaking. His success has been our success. Dolores Durr is the epitome ofthe All Ameri- can Girlf' Her enthusiasm, her fresh, vivacious personality, her school spirit, and her friendli- ness have brightened the halls of NHS for the past four years. She is outstanding as a leader, as a worker, and as an individual. Her energetic and meticulous efforts as Secretary of the Student Council and her dedicated loyalty as a Varsity Cheerleader is unmatched. She has also main- tained an excellant scholastic record. Leadership is the word which best describes Ken Johnson. As president of the Student Body and in many roles in FFA, he has demonstrated that the mark ofa good leader is to serve. Ken al- ways gives of himself more than he asks of others. His ability to organize, his insight, and his dependability have characterized him as the one who can get the job done. Ken tempers his strong productive drive with a deep regard for all those he encounters by always having a sincere word for everyone. Through his hard work and concern he leaves a little of himself everywhere he goes, and in this way NHS will be a brighter place because Ken passed this way. A true gentleman, Ken represents the best ofthe Amer- ican spirit. 208 Who's Who Vivacious and sparkling are two words which aptly describe this senior who's who, Pam Jurney. Pam's friendly disposition and optimistic outlook combine to make her a pleasant friend and delightful companion. Her boundless energy allows her to make many contributions to her school as she has served this year as book N editor, JR. Historian president, Recording Secre- tary of the National Honor Society, Parliamen- tarian of the Future Homemakers of America, and V. President of the Chorale. She has also al- tended SFA on the concurrent program. With High Christian ideals, Pam reflects sincere pur- pose in her life. She plans to attend jacksonville Baptist College following her graduation. With her ability to work and enjoy life, Pam is sure to make outstanding contributions there, also. ln the eyes ofthe faculty and students at NHS, Martha Muckleroy has earned our recognition for her excellence in academics, as exemplified by her selection to the National Honor Society, and in athletics having been selected the dis- trict's outstanding volleyball player. For these achievements, Martha has won our praise. And because of her friendly smile, her kindness, her sincerity, and her honest concern, she has won our hearts also. One strange characteristic of the human animal is that he acknowledges as great those things which will pass away. But that which is great in Martha is that which is eternal. She radiates that love which only comes from the ind- welling spirit of Jesus Christ, and for this reason, though men may forget her, she is remembered.
