The Traveler A traveler in time Once paused along the way At the brink of his prime To ponder on tomorrow And remember a yesterday. As he reclined, And breathed the full breath of his spring The thoughts of his youthful mind Weaved the threads of his past That to his future would pattern bring. Triumphs and trials of days gone by And thoughts of tomorrow's day For memories he could only cry For tomorrow he could but pray, That destiny would yet prove kind. The path ahead was long and steep That led him from here to eternityg On it led into darkened deep Someday to stop and see The very edge of time. So 'cross his shoulder he flung his dream And plucked a hope from a nearby tree, Thus out across the rushing stream That once crossed would find him free, To roam to the very ends of his destiny. by, Jeffery J.
