0654 Proud and happy the Class of ol are the graduates to be Few parents or students real1ze just how th1s class has grown up s1nce Janlce Clark refused to leaxc her mother the flrst day of school Jerry Buse brough his waddllng duck to school Rox Herald gave LaVerne Albee the chleken pox then there was the t1me Bob Phllhps and 'Iom Longmlre wanted to be tax1 derm1sts sent for the materlal and experlmented on a dead owl Much dramatlc talent was dlsplayed by thls class throughout the school years No one could forget Chuck Fall as Wxldcat W1l11e Nona Ellsworth fK1ttyJ completely stole the show 1n Sev enteenth Summer Eunlse Wllkmson wlll always be remembered for her fine yolce She por trayed Polly IH the operetta Professor How Could You Thls class had many memorable tlmes on cl 1ss p1cn1cs Ruth Dalton Dorls Gammons and Barbara Funkhouser fought a loslng battle w1th the ants Pat Jacobson added to the scenery by taklng a swlm ln the lcx stream Cllff Cope would f1nd amusement ln a game of pmecone catch and Naoml MClVl1l1lH and Phvllls Kellx were the flrst to see that a game of softball was start ed Don Darnell really hotxled one ralny day at Boulder Cate when there wasnt enough food to go around Several new students added thelr John Henry to the class toll durlng hlgh school Among the many were An1ta Cope Jerry Zlrkle Gary Crewdson Ke1th Cooley Bob Tlllet Ray Stlflllltt and B111 Peterson As Wlde eyed freshmen thls class pitched ln all the va ay round Chal les Moore added a few tacks to the seats ln Room 109 Shlrley Orr and Fran Cameron xx on Wlde fame for thelr help on decoratlng and clean up commlttees Joan Balley found tlme to help out when help was needed ed sell mllk lce cream and pop ourlng noons and f1nally took over the Job of Flnancxal Chalrman for the Glrls league Pav and 'Xlym Frederlck added much to the absentee 11st were always good sports and w1ll1ng to do the1r part Roger Glessen studled photography and d1d a superb Job for thls yearbook Lou Celle Seward spent many long hours edltlng the Ranger REVIEW Stan Jones took care of the stage managlng wh1le Joe Hay es supervlsed the buslness end Jlm Layton made a name for hlmself as a record breaklng track man and Blevms sparked the basket ball court and baseball dlamond for four years wrth h1s uncanny cleverness two l1ttle fellows Jackle Jones and Darrell Horn added thelr sportsmansh1p to the bovclng rmg A fme crop of secretarles blossomed out of thls class Mary Lou De Moss and Betty Ann Clark FBCCIX ed awards for vtr1t1nU 120 words per mmute 1n shorthand when they vsere only Junxors Bet ty Jo Nlchols set a record 1n shorthand and d1d a flne Job as treasurer of the A S B She also won the D A R award Of course qulte a number of the grrls 1n th1s class w1ll be future homemakers l+our glrls who have been plannlng on th1s occupatlon for qu1te some tlme are Shlrley Dolqulst Helen Larson Betty Jones and Becky Barnes Wes Dellmger and Joe K1 ner took up home defendlng and added thelr b1t to the war effort Two of the best bus dr1x ers ot 1951 were Cecll Webster and Alun Young The organlzed con luslon of bus chatter xx as all 1n a day s work for them The one somethlng outstandlng about th1s class 15 the leadershlp ab1l1ty dlsplay ed throughout the school years Wllma GIDSOH led the cheers for the Ranger teams through sex en seasons and devoted her tlme to some excellent pep assemblles She also helped select the records for the rec ord llbrary and usually bought the formal decoration supplles Bob Ph1Il1ps preslded over the en tlre student body and student counc1l He and the student councll brought about many worth Whlle changes dur ng the year Gary Orr led th1s class ot 51 through 1ts fourth most glorlous X631 and to the end of The Best Years of Thelr Lxfe 71 I , 1 1 1 , ,, - - u . .
