This year the Frosh-Soph Football team had a very good season. The Bobcats, supported by the depth of 19 sophs compiled a 5-2 season, losing only to Coquille and Brookings. Gordon Cromwell led as the offensive player of the year, and Mark Smith commanded the defense. Coaches Scott MacCleur and Marty Gary were both very satisfied with the cooperation and effort of the squad. This group is going to contribute a great deal to the future of M.P.H.S. football. BACK AGAIN HOMECOMING This year's homecoming was a big success. There was a different dress up day everyday of the week and some sort of noon activity. Dress up days, activities, and the winners are as follows. Monday-Logger Day, Junior Vickie Crook; Pie eating contest, Senior Bob Tams; Frisbee Contest, Senior Ted Ficher; Tuesday-Greaser Day, Junior Michelle Bennett; Sock Hop; Wednesday-Inside out and sock day, Senior Marshall Lewis; Thursday-Baby Day and Stuffed animal day, tie-Seniors Marshall Lewis and Joe Johnson; Baby Bottle Sucking Contest, Senior Marty Stallard; Friday-Sports Day and Red and Blue Day, Tie-Seniors Marshall Lewis and Joe Johnson; Flour Contest, Senior Kit Thurman. Thursday night there was also a tug of war and bonfire. Seniors took on every one and won. Chris Burdick and Kevin Arment were votes Ms. Torch and Mr. Flame A car rally was held Friday night before the game. M.P. hosted Brookings for the game. M.P. won 20 to 17. A dance was held afterwards. Princesses were as follows: Freshman Melody Laird escort Jeff Tams, Sophomore Lindee Adams escort Alan Freed, Junior Janet Bachmeir escort Robert Gibbs, Seniors Denise Crawford escort David Cagley and Loreena Winter escort Eric Zumwalt. Janet was crowned by last years queen Tish McGarity. Marshall Lewis helps Bob Tams get ready for the pie eating contest. 30
