f CLASS HISTORY f September, 1954, one hundred and twenty students claimed M.P.U.H.S. We were determined to become the best class the school had EVER SEEN, BUT GOT OFF TO A POOR START WITH A VERY SLOW ELECTION OF CLASS OFFICERS. The only thing we seemed able to take CREDIT for was our growing TREASURY UNTIL- WE TOOK HONORS IN THE CLASS PROGRAM CONTEST FOR P.T.S.O. Our SOPHOMORE YEAR WE PICKED UP SPEED AND OUR REPUTATION FOR DOING THINGS IN A BIG WAY GREW. OuR WELCOME FrESHMENM PARTY WAS OUR FIRST SOPHOMORE triumph. Graduation was outside that year and we decorated for it. We INSTALLED A STREAM OPERATED BY A PUMP TO EMPHASIZE OUR FLOWERC, EVERGREEN TRIMMED PLATFORM. HaLF WAY THROUGH THE CEREMONY SOMEONE TURNED THE PUMP OFF, BUT IS WAS A SUCCESS ANYWAY. We entered our junior year proud and rich. We were now uppcrclassmen”, We HELD THE JUNIOR PROM BEFORE ChRISTMAS WITH A THEME OF ’’WlNTER WoN- derland . Our class play was Who's Crazy Now7fl Not much acting was REQUIRED AS ALL WE HAD TO DO WAS ACT NATURAL.. We GAVE THE SENIORS A WONDERFUL BANQUET BEFORE THEIR SENIOR BALL WHICH SHALL LONG BE REMEMBERED. It had a Dutch atmosphere. Seniors at last and we are the best, as far as we are concerned. Our senior class play, The Desperate Ambrose proved a big hit and our senior ball The Emerald City , which we planned all year for, was not soon to be forgotten. Graduation at last and only seventy some of us made it through. It was a long and yet short four years that we shall always remember. 12
