In 1951, 88 of us entered the big new world of high school. Our office were James Bowers, Joe Martinka, Earl Wilson, David Hardy, Howard Newdeigh, and Rae McKinley. The Mikado was presented that year and several freshmen were in the cast. As Sophomores, we got revenge when we initiated the incoming freshmen. We elected Joe Martinka, Bruce Whitaker, Iris Brower, Bob Richmond, and Harold Neideigh as officers. We were proud of Iris Brower who was chosen Princess for the Cranberry Festival. A special highlight of the year was our being awarded the service cup on the basis of co-operation. Another year went by; we woke up juniors. We were bound and determined to have the best prom and play ever to be presented. Daisy McCain, Jack Miller, Janet Williams, Jerry Cook, Bruce Whitaker and Jane Doyle were elected officers. Cracked Nutts , our junior play, was a big success, so we were told. We had lots of fun putting it on. Then came the big night! At 9:00 p. m. , March 6, we opened the gates to the Oriental Gardens , the Theme of our junior prom. We gave the seniors a buffet dinner which preceded the Senior Ball. Again we won the service award. Each year was getting better. What would our senior year be like? September, 1954 finally rolled around. Now we were seniors. We started off the year by electing officers: Alan Miller, Sonny Schulz, Wilma Counts, Dorothy Huffman, and Bruce Whitaker. Then we put on our Senior Ball, Out of This World and it really was! Our next big event was the carnival April 1. Next came our senior play, Our Hearts Were Young and Gay. Last, but not at all least, came graduation. Only 65 of us made it; some moved, others got married. We were small, but mighty! We wish to express our appreciation to Mr. Nichols and Miss Morton for their help in our senior year. We also want to thank all the teachers and parents who have helped make our four years at M. P. enjoyable ones.
