Mr. Corky Van Loo, head football coacn, was assisted by Mr. Earl Miller, who was primarily the line coach, Mr. Richard Vanderzanden coached the freshman team. The Viking Griflders completed their most successful season in four years, winning- 5 and losing 3. The only losses were to Sub-District teams Myrtle Point, Coquille, and llandon. The Vikings won the UMPQUA VALLEY LEAGUE trophy with a record of 1 wins and no losses. The team was in better physical condition than they have been for quite some time, because of more football aspirants and a harder fight for spots on the varsity team. Also the players were in good mental condition because ofthe loyal backingrs of the newly formed HBOOSTERS CLUB.
