Sharon Jones, The Future Homemakers of America, a national organization of students study homemaking, has been organized for several years in Myrtle Creek High School. Its purpose is to promote better home and family liv- ing and to develop leadership and participation in democratic society. Money-making activities have included cupcake and candy sales. Several parties have been held and have been attended by many members. Billie Jean Ogborn and Loveta Osborn attended the state convention held at Oregon State College in Corvallis. La Junta Sim Ciudado La Juna Sin Ciudado, organization of the Spanish students, has the following officers: President-Dorothy Robertson: Vice President-James Henry: Secretary-Frances Ellis: Parliamen- tarian-Cornelia Lowrance: and Sponsor- Mrs. Susan P. Butler. Club meetings are conducted in Spanish. Specitl projects are planning Spanish decorations for the classroom and holding a Mexican dinner. President 5 BA SQC The enrollment of the Music De- partment has continued to increase yearly, this year reaching a high oi' 82 in band and 35 in chorus. Con- ditions have been such that both stu- dents and faculty have worked under a handicap, but this situation will be alleviated next year when the Music Building will be soundproofed and the stage converted into a music room for class as well as individual work. The band boasts its most success- l'ul year, with an enrollment increase of thirty members over last year. The band appeared in three formal concerts, two in January and February climaxed with 1 combined conceit with the cholus in the spring. At the Competition-Festival held in Klamath Falls the band scoi ed high and in genel al had an excellent rating throughout the state m Gail M oan Gloria Burnett 2nd Vice Preszdent
