VIKETTES The Yikettes have participated in the many activities during the football and basketball seasons, The highlight of the football season was the crowning of the football queen, To conclude the season the club sponsored a dance in honor of the boys who turned out for football. Several drills were put on for half-time entertainment during the basketball season. One included the formation of Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, a tree, and a bell. A square dance was done in the dark during one half-time using lirninous gloves and shoes. Later another square dance, Sallie Goodin, was done. A basket- ball dance was sponsored by the Pep Club at the close of basketball season, Service Club The purpose of the Service Club is to keep the attendance at games orderly. sell tickets, and usherthe team supporters to their respective seats, They experimented with the erade school students and found their sup- port was greater when they were allowed to sit in the high school section. Sharon Jones, The Future Homemakers of America, a national organization of students study homemaking, has been organized for several years in Myrtle Creek High School. Its purpose is to promote better home and family liv- ing and to develop leadership and participation in democratic society. Money-making activities have included cupcake and candy sales. Several parties have been held and have been attended by many members. Billie Jean Ogborn and Loveta Osborn attended the state convention held at Oregon State College in Corvallis. La Junta Sim Ciudado La Juna Sin Ciudado, organization of the Spanish students, has the following officers: President-Dorothy Robertson: Vice President-James Henry: Secretary-Frances Ellis: Parliamen- tarian-Cornelia Lowrance: and Sponsor- Mrs. Susan P. Butler. Club meetings are conducted in Spanish. Specitl projects are planning Spanish decorations for the classroom and holding a Mexican dinner.
