Douglas Zoller If all of us at Mynderse Academy have done our job, we should have helped each of you to be effective, fully participating graduates capable of coping with and readjusting to a changing society. I hope that all of you have acquired, to some degree, the ability to reason, the ability to readjust yourself to cultural changes, the ability to control and spend one’s time with intelligence and rewarding purpose, the ability to achieve and sustain rewarding relationships with others and the ability to persevere and extend one’s uniqueness while participating in our society. I wish you every success as you enter the next stage of your life and every stage thereafter. May you achieve success in proportion to the effort and dedication you put forth. Sincerely, M. Douglas Zoller Superintendent of Schools 14 TO THE CLASS OF 1981 - If you have done your best, if you have not magnified your troubles, if you have looked on the bright side of things and evaluated things as they really are, you have indeed been an asset to your school, Mynderse Academy. It is now your responsibility to go out into the world and do those things that will benefit and enhance the lives of the people around you. The real measure of the Class of ’81 will not be in what legacy you have left at Mynderse, but what contributions you can make to your family, community and nation. As a class you will never be forgotten and you will always be welcomed back. Mynderse is your school and no one can take away those memories and experiences that helped to mold your personal philosophy. Thanks for letting us become a part of your life. May good luck and prosperity follow you and your class throughout the fullness of you lifetime. Let a smile be your umbrella! John R. Markell, Principal 15 The beginning of a new and challenging life lies before each and every one of you. You should enter this new experience with faith and confidence in yourself. Do not be influenced by the pessimistic attitude of our future, which is forecast by the cynics of our society. Life is what the individual desires it to be. This is not to say that it will be easy. Hard work and perseverance must be a part of your daily life. Set your goals high and be honest with yourself in the effort you put forth to reach for that something special. Be hesitant in looking toward tomorrow and do your best each day to make that day a stepping stone to the next. Remember, self-confidence is a key that will unlock the door to your future. Best wishes, David Geitner Assistant Principal 16 This has been a very busy year with many things to do. What most of us fail to realize are the many good times and fun we have had together at Mynderse Academy. These memories will follow us through the rest of our lives. We, the class of 1981, owe a great deal to the faculty who has aided and assisted us through these very difficult years, teaching us to take on responsibility. They were instrumental in helping to shape our character. Soon, we will all go our own ways but we know we can always rely on those close friends that we have made at Mynderse. We have all gained valuable knowledge and obtained a set of values here at Mynderse that we will carry with us for the rest of our lives.
