TO THE CLASS OF 1978 In the fall of 1975. you “The Class of '78.” entered Mynderse Academy for the final three years of your public school education. At that time. I started as principal of Mynderse Academy; therefore, you are the first class with which I have been closely associated throughout your three years in high school. Your theme, “A Rainbow of Memories.” is most appropriate for me, personally, because I plan to graduate with you. However, your careers will be starting while mine will be ending. As you look back over your fond and cherished memories upon which to reflect in; the years to come. For some of you, your memories will affect you nostalgically. After graduation, if you start your career with the same enthusiasm and dedication to the task before you, as you have shown during the past three years, success will be yours. I challenge each of you to use your God-given ability to its fullest. If you do. then, around the year 2012, when you are in the twilight years of your career, your “Rainbow of Memories” will be complete as you reflect back on a job well done. Congratulations to you. “Class of '78,” and may you all enjoy good health, happiness, and prosperity in the years ahead. Peter DeBottis Principal

We have made it! Though, in starting our then seemingly long journey through high school in September of 1974. we were nervous. We thought we knew it all: however, it didn't take us long to realize how wrong we were. With the assistance of the administration, we learned to correct our ways. We regret that Mr. Peter DeBottis intends to retire from the school district, for others that follow us will miss his guidance. He has contributed greatly to our character development as well as to our academic development. The class of 1978 is proud and honored to have such an individual to guide them through the years. Now. as we reflect, the past four years didn’t seem so long or difficult. School was more than just formal learning. This time in our life was marked by challenges and experiences involving psychological as well as physiological development. Thusly. I would venture to say that Mynderse has and will continue to have a place in everyone's inner world. Can any senior really erase four years from his life? I can truly say as much as Mynderse had a place for us these past four years, we will have a place in our heart for Mynderse in the future.
