MR. RADTKE . . . Informs, Guides, Instructs Mr. Raymond Radtke, principal of Mynderse Academy for eight years, helped chart and direct us as we filled our treasure chest. Throughout the year we heard his familiar voice over the public address system. He informed us voyagers of the activities of the week, school rules, announcements of awards, and victorious sports events. We will remember him as he is pictured here, giving a few remarks at the many assembly pro- grams. We will also recall him as the bearer of the lamentable news that President Kennedy had been assassinated. As many of us have learned, lVl1'. Radtlce is a friend to all. His helping hand is continuously out- stretched, ready to do even the littlest thing, such as lending a dime for the telephone or supplies from the vending machines. We are grateful to lVlr. Radtke because he has en- couraged a climate of mutual respect that is evi- denced by our behaviour in the halls, by lockers that can be left unlocked, and by our persistent efforts to, win the sportsmanship award.

M nderse Academy . . . TREASURE CHEST OF CPPORTLI ITY It remains for each to make the proper choice. The years of high school present many oppor- tunities for study, for exploration and research, for growth and development, and for enjoyment. The various courses that are competently taught and are interesting and challenging in the areas of languages, arts, science, business and vocational fields, in addition to the many required subjects, provide for a wide range of individual choice. Each student, if he wishes, can develop a program suited to his needs. The associations with teachers and classmates and the chance to form close and lasting friendships offer an opportunity that is never repeated in quite the same way. Most Seniors have been with their classmates for many years, some for all of their school life. Here a person knows his friends and is known by them in a close and special way. The years following high school make new demands and present new, but different, opportunities. High school provides, also, the opportunity to live in and be a part of a vital, growing section of an almost complete society of young people. Here are found a representative government, class of- ficers, and student council, the right to campaign for office and to Vote for candidates, a chance to participate in sports and other activities, the oppor- tunity to sing, read, listen, write a term paper, build a motor, paint, relax, study, and graduate. These years can be for every student a full and exciting experience. It remains for each to make the proper choice. Congratulations, Peter King Superintendent

R. COGLEY . . . Another guide along our search for treasures is Mr. Frank Cooley. During his nineteen years at Mynderse Academy, he has filled numerous posi- tions. We know him personally as vice-principal and teacher. lVlr. Cooley is a two-fold contributor to our chest. As a teacher, he is concerned with our educational development, and, as administrator, he Watches over our disciplinary development. We learned of his versatility through stories taken from his cornucopia of experiences. Before becoming a biology teacher, ERSATILE, BLE he served as a physical fitness director in the Army, worked as a lumberjack, and was a gym teacher. While at Mynderse Academy, he has coached track, golf, baseball, and football. His interest in students and club activities Was evidenced by his being ad- visor to' Block M and Student Council. We shall remember his informative biology class- es and his companion, Oscar. Some of us shall re- call his carrying out necessary disciplinary measures and checking on eligibility of athletes.
