What a lucky day in 1949 for Mynderse and us when the newly formed pea green freshmen made up of graduates from St. Patricks and of eighth graders from the first floor congregated for the first time as a unit in the halls of M.A. Destined to break many records and rules, we started our first by becoming active participants in various extracurricular activities. Next came our initial or- ganized effort to please the students with a completely original dance. The Hobo Hop. Later to prove our ability, we took top honors in the Frosh-Soph Play Tournament. Ending our career as freshmen with hot dogs galore at the Frosh-Soph picnic, all decided that our freshman year would be very unforgettable. Sophomores!! We had now attained a goalg we were above the freshmen, and our color had turned to a loyal blue. After again winning the Fresh-Soph Play Tournament we elected our capable ofiicers who helped us through our second year at Mynderse. In April, however, at our dance, The Wishing Well, we all fervently wished to be gay young juniors and we got our wish five months later. 15
