The farcical escapades of rugged Uncle jeff and the two teen-age boys, Buzz and Wally, held Mynderse in an uproar for days. Who will ever forget Lucindy Peck, the mournful maid from Cabbage Neck? The class is indebted by Miss Howes, the dra- matic coach, for her direction of the play. We gave the seniors a colossal send-off at our junior-Senior party in June with an abundance of entertainment and refreshments for all. As our school year came to an end we closed the door of our social world with the presentation of the junior Prom. The gym was fitting- ly decorated to achieve the proper setting for our popular formal party. We wish to express our gratitude to the class ad' visers - Mrs. Oliver, Miss Miller, and Mr. Becker - for their interest in the class activities and the stu- dents themselves. Our memorable year as juniors in Mynderse will indeed live long in the hearts of every member of the class of Nineteen Fifty-One. Overflowing with vim and vitality we returned to Mynderse as jolly Iuniors promising ourselves that the coming school year was to be filled with unforgetta- ble events and occasions. The annual junior school party, Harvest Moon Hopf opened our social season in the early fall. Athletic participation in the various sports, as well as in many intramural activities, c aimed a goodly portion of the class. The academic organizations and clubs provided an outlet for our innumerable talents in the fields of art, music, dra- matics, and science. After a snowless Christmas vacation, we retumed to school to stage the Junior Jumbles, our annual talent show. Our original panorama based on man's 'progress through the ages wonit soon be forgotten. Outstanding among the many scenes was the flag-rais- ing at Iwo-Jima. The students and class advisers cer- tainly deserve a great deal of credit for the show's success. ADVISERS Mrs. Shannon Mrs. Wilson Mr. Marshall Excited shouts and laughter pealed that cheerful autumn morning in September '49 when we, the class of '52, took our places as the Sophomore Class. For days a steady buzz of conversation filled the air as we accustomed ourselves to the new environment and a fresh school year. Extra-curricular activities received our first thoughts. Block M. and G.A.A. appealed to our staunch sports fans. Intramurals as well as the Varsity and Iunior Varsity teams prompted a mass turnout of our skilled athletes. Three of our petite and lithe sophomore girls made the lay Vee cheerleading squad. Our talented musicians concentrated on Band, Senior Choir, and Orchestra. Microphone and Library Club attracted many with the literary yen. Our class was also well represented in French Club, Camera Club, Wig and Rouge, and Science Club. Next came the difficult task of selecting a slate of officers. Elec- tion returns were close, but Iames Palumbo led the class as president, with competent assisting officers. The days slipped by with astonishing rapidity. Then came the time that filled even the sunny sophomores Mr. Marshall, Mrs. Shannon, Mrs. Wilson 30
