L1'clL1.E Dirsox, Sc:-rclury ur omman er-in- Cdief. . . Ile profits most who serves best is a fundamental guiding principle of a leading international service organization. This principle has the greatest significance today when the nations of the world are engaged ill a war that will result in modern slavery or freedom. The degree to which we co-operatively and effectively utilize our abilities and resources will determine whether individualism and freedom or totalitarianism and imprisomnent shall prevail. Decisions and actions now will determine the nature and purpose of hmnan life in all countries of the world for generations to come. Intelligence, learning. and patriotism are qualities which aid us in making adjustments to new situations. Adjustments and sacrifices necessary to win the war and the peace should be apparent to us all. Students and teachers of Mynderse are responding on three specific battlefronts. And at the same time tl1ey are maintaining their mental and emotional equilibrium by refusing to respond to high pressure agencies and influences. The continuing development of long range and permanent educa- tional values-moral character, health, vocational efficiency, citizenship, fundamental literacy, use of leisure, home membership and co-operative living-remains their primary objectives. The three wars that we are fighting are against Hitler, Hirohito. and Mussolini, Inflation a11d a Disastrous Peace. In order to render the best service on these three battlefronts we should resolve to Q13 remain in school as long as possible. C23 aid in supplying materials, machines, and services, 137 save for the immediate war effort and for future security, and HJ prepare physically and otherwise by means of specialized pre-induction courses to render the most efficient man power possible. Former Nlynderse students are serving their country on many far flung battlefronts of the world. A few of our present. teen-age boys will be called before they have graduated. In true Nlynderse tradition they are giving, and will continue to give, their very best. We salute and honor them. lfiusx l',u:1-1, S11 pcrirzlcmlent of Schools 10
