n honor of Dr. Jack Horner, Myers Park's first principal, the Horner Awards were established in 1962. These awards commemorate Dr. Horner's devotion and leadership given to the school in the years he was principal, 1955-1960. Horner Award winners are se- lected by the senior class on the basis of leadership, scholarship, character, service, school spirit, and dependability. These people have served Myers Park by willingly giving their time and energy. Thirty seniors were selected this year for meeting these qualifications.
