DEDICATION This year, two individuals have been chosen for their dedicated service to Myers Park. Both of these faculty mem- bers have been and will remain a vital part of the school, its students, -and its faculty. Thank you both. Mrs. Dorothy MacGill Mr. joseph Peel Mrs. Dorothy MacGill is not only one of our librarians, she is our media special- ist.- She not only helps teachers with audio-visual equipment, such as the video tape recorder, but she employs her elec- tronic know-how to make minor but nec- essary repairs. She has also made our li- brary a colorful and comfortable environ- ment in which to study. In her eiht years at Myers Park, Mrs. MacGill has taken on many extra duties in addition to her ex- tremely busy one in the library. She has been a class advisor, and chairman of the Governing Board. This year, she donated her time to help host the Regional Debate Toumament and traveled to the State Tournament. Mrs. MacGill attended Miami University, the University of Flori- da, and Florida State. Perhaps the trait we will remember most about Mrs. Mac- Gill is that she is the most tolerant on the library staff of the notorious and many times boisterous library lunch-bunch- especially on overcrowded rainy days! No matter what we remember Mrs. MacGill for, we will always think of her eagerness and zeal in helping students with re- search. 2l0pening

Mr. Peel has spent nine years at Myers Park, holding a variety of duties and oc- cupations. He began in 1967 as a student teacher and stayed on as a German and Spanish teacher. Three years ago, Mr. Peel took over as assistant principal. To many, he is known as Coach Peel because he has served as a football and wrestling coach. He has also advised the Key Club and German Club and has served as a class advisor. Mr. Peel has attended Davidson, UNCC, the University of Georgia, and is completing his sixth year degree at UNC. As assistant principal, Mr. Peel's duties range from counselor to hall monitor to making up each year's new curriculum to changing countless schedules. He also takes in many outside chores for which he receives no compensation. One sight hone of us will forget is Mr. Peel strolling around campus in bad weather. With his trusty umbrella and his tweed jacket, he resemblesa Scottish land- owner surveying his property. Mr. Peel is always strolling around campus with or without his umbrella and is ready to lis- ten to and to help any student with a problem. Openingl3
