K ig? if in QM Mrs. Ethel Alexander Mrs. Audrey Oakes Special resource classes are designed to strenghten weaker students in basic aca- demic courses. Because these classes are smaller than most, these students receive a lot of personal attention from their instructors. This attention gives them the strong background that they will need to compete for jobs or any type of vocation. Special resource classes are conducted in the best interest of the students. This course is structured to give students the academic Courses along with che discipline and drive that will be required of them to function in today's society. These special resource classes make it possible for all students to have a chance to be educated to the capacity of their desire intact with their ability. 1. Mrs. Ethel Alexander poses in front of an interesting bulletin board used in teaching her students about personalities in history such as Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglas. 2. Students Use Students turn to the library in search of peace, calm and solitude. Two new additions have been added to the library this year. New French, German and Spanish magazines will give foreign lan- guage students a chance to put their knowledge to use. Another new addition is the video tape recording system. The video system is an audio-visual aid. lt allows a student to see and hear himself on a television-like monitor. Band students have used the video system to record concerts. Athletic teams have also used it. By recording games, it helps the team improve its the Library for Research nd for Study .K . i plays. Cribhs Mrs. Ann Partin Foreign anguage Students Pursue New Found Skills A wide variety of courses are offered in the Foreign Language Department. Latin is offered in four different stages. Emphasis is placed upon vocabulary and grammatical constructions. Spanish is also offered in different levels. Speaking and understanding a simple Spanish is the main goal. Conversational French is a new course designed to give practical experience in reading, writing, and speaking the lan- guage. French and German is also offered in different levels. This wide exposure to foreign language allows students to under- stand other countries and their people. 1. Mrs. Ann Partin goes over review work so that students in her Spanish class will be ready for examinations. 24lForeign Language
