Page 4 Work is love made visible aptly encompasses the many facets of Miss Winnie D. Moores teaching. Because of her insight, she is able to arouse in others the desire to explore and to dis- cover the unknown for them- selves. Many of her afternoons are spent in supervising make- up labs, in guiding students in enrichment work, and in simply counseling. Through her teach- ing, Miss Moore reveals her own deep love and respect for knowledge. To keep herself informed about the newest concepts in biology, Miss Moore often does advanced study in summer school. In 1959 she held a National Science Foundation Scholarship for study at Hunter College. Last summer she studied radiation biology at the Duke Marine Station. A member of the first faculty, Miss Moore has been instrumental in winning prestige for the Biology Department and in establishing the Biology II course. The inspiration which she has brought to her students over the years is immeasurable. In appreciation for her innumerable contributions to Myers Park High School and its student body, we proudly dedicate the 1961 f1fIz1.rfr111g to Miss Wfinnie D. Moore. Interested students watch as Miss Moore disseets premature calf.

FUREWIJRIJ For Myers Park students, the year 1960-1961 was the beginning of an end. A dream, chaos, and confusion - such was the school in 1951. Many pieces of the puzzle had yet to be fitted into place. Equipment and textbooks were available to help complete it, but the human element was needed. As the first year progressed, the buildings received a lived-in appearance, new faces became olcl faces, Myers Park's spirit materialized. Students and faculty were no longer groping in their new environment, the bonds of friendship had been forged. The administration and the community as a whole helped to shape the destiny of Myers Park.
