Awesome, yet wonderful, being a senior meant that futures had to be planned forg therefore, College Day and College Board Examinations helped many to find their niche in institutions of higher learning. The quest for knowledge and the desire for strong academic background took on new meanings as the seniors puzzled over Canterbury Tales and Macbeth, term papers, trigonometry and senior math. physics and chemistry, and foreign languages. Electives which en- riched their program included world literature. drama. music, and advanced art. Extra-curricular activities played an important part in each busy senior's life. Many held offices on the Student Council, others worked untiringly on the numerous senior committees. Practically every senior Page belonged to one of the service clubs, and the more talented ones took the lead parts in major musical and dramatic productions. Loyal and devoted class members filled most of the major staff positions of the yearbook and school paper. Outstanding recognition came to the class of '58 as individuals received scholarships. athletic awards. civic awards, coveted positions of leadership, membership in the Honor Society, and awards for outstanding musical performances. Class activities not soon to be forgotten were thc Senior Picnic, the numerous school dances, the Senior Follies, the Senior Banquet, and, of course, Graduation and last good-byes to a wonderful Alma Mater. 16
