A computer system has been in- stalled, updating administrative services and pro- viding research facilities for students and faculty. A convenient system of computerized pre-regis- tration has made registration more efficient and much faster. All grade processing, including Dean’s list and academic probation, will be done by the computer. A new course in computer science gives students an opportunity for undergraduate study in the field of computer technology. Muskingum’s computer system now includes the following equipment: 1130 Computer, 1132 printer, 1142 card read punch, 082 sorter, 026 printing card punch, and a 26 interpreting card punch. A 6—0 conference record extended the winning streak to 19 games, surpassing the 18 win record held by Wittenberg. Also the nine wins this year and eight last year gave the team 17 consecutive wins. Muskingum placed eight men on the first All-Confer- ence Team: Doug Smart, Scott Herriott, Rick Harbold, Rick Bonifield, Mark De- Villing, Carl Lambert, Rich Schneider, Doug Welsh. Named to the second team were Steve Aller and Pete Brookhart. At the conclusion of the season Mark DeVil- ling, Little All-American selection, and Rick Harbold with over 1,000 yards rush- ing this season, were awarded the Mike Gregory Awards for Best Defensive and Of- fensive Players, respectively, in the O.C. After being rated 7th in the nation by both AP and UPI polls, the Muskies accepted their second bid in three years to the Grant- land Rice Bowl. They were defeated 34—7 by 2nd-rated Tennessee State University. Head coach Ed Sherman was honored at the Los Angeles Athletic Club. He received the Tommy Helms Award and an award from Sport Magazine.
