MUREL G. BURDICK, A.B., M.A. Mr. Burdick thinks we should have all the space we need with the teaching staff adequate to lessen class size. He believes this is possible next year with the completion of Walter B. Steele lr. High School and the Senior High School having the entire campus. Mr. Burdick is President of the Exchange Club, on the Y.M.C.A. Board of Directors, on the Central Methodist Church Board and a member of the Torch Club. His pet peeve is people who are not on time. MR. EDWARD 1. HUTTENGA, A.B., M.A. Sports, fishing, and hunting are what Mr. Huttenga lists as his favorite outside interests. Mr. Huttenga comes from Grand Haven, Michigan and is the director of Vocational Education at M.H.S. His travels cover much of the southern and western United States.

MR. KENNETH C. KOLBERG, B.S. Tcickling the Big Problems ond Coming Out on Top Problems, problems, and more problems! And for every one, no matter how big it is, a solution IIlL1St be found. Finding those solutions is the job of the administration at M.H.S. They must make the rules and regulations, a task which takes much consider- MR. RAY CARLSON, B.A., M.A. Now acting as administrative assistant in charge of juniors, Mr. Carlson also teaches world history. Mr. Carlson has traveled all over the South Pacific, at the expense of Uncle Sam, while serving in the Armed Forces. MR. LLOYD C. HARTMAN, B.S., M.A. Mar. Hartman, who comes from Battle Creek, Michigan, is head football coach at M.H.S. and an assistant to the principal. Mr. Hag.man's interests include the following: fishing, hunting and rea ing. MISS EMILY HERKIMER, B.S., M.A. The homemaking supervisor at our school is Miss Herkimer. She is a member of the A.A.U.W. Mr. Kolberg hails from nearby Grand Haven, Michigan. He is the director of the manual at M.H.S. MRS. ALICE KYES, A.B., A.M. Mrs. Kyes, our assistant principal, enjoys art and reading. She is a member of the Board of the Muskegon County Museum. Mrs. Kyes believes each student should make high standards for himself and live up to them. She is also in charge of the foreign exchange students. MR. JOHN W. TOPPEN, B.S. Photography, gardening, and travel are among the hobbies of Mr. Toppen. He feels that to eliminate from study any room that does not have desks would be an excellent improvement for M.H.S. Mr. Toppen also expresses his pet peeve as litter . ation and discussion, and once the rules are made, the administrators must also see that they are carried out. Let's all take our hats off to those who keep our school running so smoothly, for they must tackle big problems, and they usually come out on top. NX . V V .
