Tl1ere's ci Time lor Meeting New New students, that way is the main hall, Mr. Burdick seems to be explaining to new M.H.S. students, as he briefs them the day before the opening of school. At this annual pre-school meeting, our maze of halls and rooms is explained. For a while they wander aimlessly, but wait, soon they will be holding their own with the more experienced students. H3

This is the usual pre-bell crush outside the doors at M H S What are they talking about? Do they regret leaving the pleasant fall weather to enter our institute of learning? Maybe they are comparing schedules and discussing their new teachers. Let's follow them through their school year for they made It what it is Comparing notes on points of interest where their paths may have crossed at one time or an- other are our foreign exchange students. From left to right are Hans Bolten from Germany, Saki Takahashi from japan, Dick Dan- hoff from M.H.S. who traveled to Europe last summer. Dick was sponsored by A.F.S. funds collected each year by Carmenta to send a M.H.S. student abroad to live with a family there for the summer, and Hannah Krogh from Denmark. These students are selected for their scholarship and personality in their native countries and then brought to Muskegon to live with an American family for a year.

,Q Kg ,X MUSKEGON HIGH SCHOOL, that's what the letters over our school say, Here we see workmen changing it during summer Roy Beagle seems to be urging speed as he W3fCl'l95 Karen vacation: it used to be Senior High School and lunior College. Stulp and Marcella Bowman sign last year's Said and Done. Then, when l. C. was established, our letters were off keel. Everyone had a yearbook and as you can see, they stopped Now, with this fine gift from the graduating classes of '57 everywhere to sign them. and '58, our school proudly announces to the world that this Friends and Making Changes Hungry M.H.S. students keep the cafeteria and auditorium hopping during all three of our lunch hours. Here we see the ever-present chow line in the cafeteria, waiting to be served at the main service table. There are two places to be served in our big cafeteria: the main dish table and the smaller table used mostly by our bag lunch students. ll
