MUSIC DEPARTMENT The aims of the Music Department are three-fold: creating a love for and an appreciation of fine music, preparing the students who wish to make a career in the field of music, and serving the student body and the community. Since real appreciation of fine music comes through actual performance, an earnest effort is made in both choral and instrumental groups, to provide all the stu- dents interested in music with opportunities to perform. Students preparing for a career in music are taught not only the technical s1de of music but also to Work as a group and as an 1nd1v1dual By performing for the student body and the Commun ity at Various assemblies and concerts the music de partment helps these groups appreciate good music and raises the standards of the school and community 1 William Stewart Ioh DeHom Alex Posvistak Mr Boys cmd Mr Martin study a score 26
