Music has always played a large part in the activities of Muskegon High School, and so it is perhaps only natural that the name of the person in charge ot instrumentalrnusic should become an important one on the faculty roster. But William Stewart, Ir. has far transcended any mere iunctionary importance. His fine musicianship, boundless energy, and patient understand- ing which have built ior us orchestras and concert and marching bands of state championship calibre, have won for him the high esteem and affection ot faculty and students alike. Few are those who realize the amount of outside work which Mr. Stewart must perform in the planning of band formations and in the organizing necessary to manage the movements of 60 and 100 piece ensembles.
