It is a thing of beauty, or a thing ol shame, as we ourselves make it. We lay the corner and add joint to joint,' we give the proportion, we set the finish. It may be a thing of beauty and of joy forever. -Ware There's a time for everything, someone has said: a time to be born and a time to die, but, as some wag also said, it's the time in between that worries me. There's a time for school and a time for workg a time for love and a time for marriage, a time for worry and a time for fun. The time . . . the minutes, the hours, the days, and months, and the years we have spent here . . . have been eventful and good years, sometimes sorrowful, most times glad, filled to capacity with joyous things for us to do. Is it any wonder we chose Time and School Life as the theme of the 1964 Oaks? So as we venture forth, we leave behind us in the pages of this yearbook another world . . . a world of fond memories and a record of things attempted and things achieved. In this volume we leave but a trace, even a hint or two, perhaps, of the many adventures we had. One must read between the lines of this book in order to savor its content to the fullest. We are sure you will agree, whether you are a senior or not, that this yearbook is a kind of symbol for all of us. Page by page, it ticks off each precious minute and hour of our school days . . . more precious to us now because they are almost gone. The Oaks, which may be thought of as growing and developing out of a little Acorn, is a symbol of growth and of strength. This yearbook will always be cherished by us, the Senior Class of '64.
