Foreword Tall oaks from little acorns grow. - Everett It has been said that The Oaks is the only written evidence of some of the best years of our lives. Because the staFf of '62 sincerely believes this statement, we have tried our best to make this yearbook an outstanding record of the memorable years of our school life. As we look through these pages in the years to come, we hope to revive again and again our many friendships and old times. We can, at a glance, recall the members of the faculty and the adminis- tration who have labored to help us take our place in a democratic society. There was a time -- several years ago - when one might say we were little acorns. We hope we can say that today we are oaks, strong enough to stand on our own feet, with roots in the firm ground of fundamentals and with arms reaching for the stars. Each time we turn these pages, we shall be reminded of the fun we had, as well as our obligations to ourselves and our community. We hope each page will hold for you, fond memories of the year, l962.
