Page Eighteen In Fond Memor For C. F. Bolt, principal of Muskegon Heights High for 31 years until his retirement in l952 and active in the Muskegon area in so many other ways, no written eulogy could be nearly so elo- quent as was his own capacity for friendship. In all his years in the field of education and elsewhere, that sense of personal interest in others was completely and naturally a part of him. It was a great gift, all the more so in his work with people of school age. He knew their interests and always had plenty of time to discuss their problems and lend a constructive hand. As one of his favorite Bible passages put it, he was a man with an understanding heart. Few people you ever know have so successfully com- bined professional and private lives, seeing no need for a division between them, and for that reason finding much satisfaction in both. He set an example of integrity and personal goodness, in seeking out ways to help other people to happier and fuller lives. Living his religion, he was indeed a friend of his fellow man, and his passing is mourned by the hundreds of individuals of all ages who had the pleasure of knowing him.
