Did you know that the telephone operator, Shirley Gribble, has never swallowed a line? Sally Turner, secretary to Mr. Bang, the famous explosion expert, is talking to Roy Brokaw, who is the inventor of Roy Brokaw's Special Exploding Cigars. Ronald Post, army construction man, is talking to Ronald Goodwiler, the famous engineer. I wonder what construction job they are planning now ?Who knows, it may be the Bridge on the River Kwai. Oh, Oh, a slight accident folks, die army and the navy are fighting. Somebody had better separate Joe Allen and Richard Hackle. I see Judy Campbell and Dorothy Kolman conferring on the best way to fix the hair so dial a tall person will seem short. They think Dorothy’s new hair cut “Close Shave” will do just that. Excuse me folks, I think now is die time I had better leave. Pat Bomkamp, Marie Koss, Judy Ros- sing, and Mary Ann Makovec are going to demonstrate how and where to give different types of shots. If I stay it will be the end for me. Be sure and stay tuned for my next reunion coverage. I certainly hope the next one will be as grand as this one. 21

CLASS PROPHECY Time - May 30, 1964 PLACE - Muscoda High School Gymn EVENT - Reunion of Class of “59” Hello folks, this is your M. H. S. reporter, Nosy News, here to cover the most famous reunion since Anthony and Cleopatra. I see Leila Chitwood and Barbara Mueller talking over old times. I wonder how Larry is coming along with their children. Somehow, I think that he would rather be attending the reunion. Of course, all of us know who Barbara Mueller is. She used to be a legal secretary in Brazil until she discovered oil in the jungle while she was digging her garbage pit. Now she’s the richest woman in the world. Do you folkes hear that train? That means that Fredrick Ruetten 0, King of the Hobo Jungle, will be coming in soon. They say he is another Freddie the Freeloader. Donna Bloyer is sitting in the corner with Margaret Bomkamp and Judy Walsh teaching them how to play bridge. They are regular little housewives already. Here is a news flashl Tom Walsh, noted anthropologist, has just discovered the link between ape and man. He calls it the “Walsh Man.” It looks like there is a teachers conference over in the corner. Joanne Bobb, Joan Reyzek, Mary Schneider, and Ellen Schwabe are discussing their pupils. Joanne’s American History students can’t see why Colombus didn’t leave America to the Indians. Joan’s pupils don’t like Shakespeare, because they can’t understand it. Ellen’s and Mary’s students can’t understand why they don’t have recess all the time. I guess teachers have problems, too. The music you hear is coming from Danny Kolar, Bob Makovec, Kenneth Studnicka, Rocky Benish, and John Mueller, the famous singing farmers. They can make a dry cow give a bucket of milk, just by singing the “Milk Bucket Boggy.” Marcella Hach, well-known designer of the flat look, is talking to LaVaun Buening, the store clerk who was so thrifty that she now has more money than her boss. Judy Delp, famous journalist who wrote. “The Plow and I,” is taking notes on the reunion for the “Muscaroon.” That fanfare signals one of the biggest highlights of the day. Muriel Bethke, Professor of Music, is going to lead the class in singing her two smash hits, “It Takes Two to Tangle, and “The Teakettle Ver- sion of Home on the Range.” I see Don Stanek, Bill Bomkamp, and Randall Davis standing over there. As you know, they are the only living mechanics who can keep Jack Benny’s Maxwell on the road. I see Patricia Mohr, painter of “Whistler’s Father,” talking to Roxanne Kovars, private secretary to the ambassador from Outer Mongolia. Ruth Storms, airline stewardess, has been up in the air since she and Gilman Harper became engaged. Jean Schlump, Evelyn Belscamper, Connie Williams, and Pat Foley, secretarial experts on how to persuade the boss to give you a raise, are giving free demonstrations. I guess I had better join them. May- be I’ll learn something. 20
