CLASS HISTORY This is the city: Muscoda, Wisconsin. We lived here: We were seniors of M. H. S. Time: August, 1955. Job: We graduated. Forty-one young men and women came through die doors of M. H. S. to start a four year grind. We were met right smack at the door with initiation. The first event which we were concerned with as fresh- men was the Homecoming. Evelyn Belscamper was on the court. Karlene Kalish and Don Stanek represent- ed us at the Christmas Ball. At the Prom, we were represented by Connie Williams and Theron Morris. Dennis Davidson, Michael Flynn and Karlene Kalish left us during our freshmen year. A picnic at Castle Rock completed our freshman year. In our sophomore year we got off to a good start. We gained a fellow classmate, Patricia Foley. We were again concerned with our first event. Homecoming. Jean Schlump and Ronnie Goodwiler were on the court of honor. We won first prize on our float in the Homecoming parade. Dan Kolar and Shirley Gribble were on the court of honor for the Christmas Ball. Connie Williams and Theron Morris represented us at the Junior Prom. Those who left during our shophomore year were Bill Burton, Judith Hanson, Beverly Hicks, Karen Parish, Rita Smith, and Lola Muchow. We closed the year with a picnic at Devil’s Lake. Our junior year came and we were still “going on.” We added the following young men and women to our class: Judy Campbell, Margaret Bomkamp, Mary Schneider, Donna Bloyer, Bill Bomkamp, Tom Walsh and Judy Walsh. On the Homecoming court were Ruth Storms and Dan Kolar. At the Christmas Ball, John Mueller and Donna Bloyer represented our class. We received our rings during our junior year. The biggest event was, of course, the Junior Prom. Our theme was “April Love.” We had Joey Paradiso and his orchestra. King and Queen were Dan Kolar and Mary Schneider. Representing us were Don Stanek and Connie Williams. Mary and Dan were also chosen for Badger Girls State and Badger Boys State repre- sentatives. Those that left during our junior year were Theron Morris, Shirley Olson and Ralph Weichbrod. A trip to Wisconsin Dells ended our happy junior year. At lasd Seniors of Muscoda High School! A job coming to its end, and a job well done. Sally Turner joined us during this reign of seniority. John Mueller and Shirley Gribble reigned as king and queen of Homecoming. Next came the Christmas Ball with Dan Kolar and Donna Bloyer reigning. Judy Delp and Bob Makovec were on the court of honor. A one-act play, “Blithe Spirit,” in which Donna Bloyer, Mary Schneider and Tom Walsh participated, received an A” at Platteville and a “B at Whitewater. Class night was held May 20, 1959, and baccalaureate services on Sunday, May 17, 1959. Our four years of working together ceased as each of us took that solemn step for our diplomas. 19

CLASS PROPHECY Time - May 30, 1964 PLACE - Muscoda High School Gymn EVENT - Reunion of Class of “59” Hello folks, this is your M. H. S. reporter, Nosy News, here to cover the most famous reunion since Anthony and Cleopatra. I see Leila Chitwood and Barbara Mueller talking over old times. I wonder how Larry is coming along with their children. Somehow, I think that he would rather be attending the reunion. Of course, all of us know who Barbara Mueller is. She used to be a legal secretary in Brazil until she discovered oil in the jungle while she was digging her garbage pit. Now she’s the richest woman in the world. Do you folkes hear that train? That means that Fredrick Ruetten 0, King of the Hobo Jungle, will be coming in soon. They say he is another Freddie the Freeloader. Donna Bloyer is sitting in the corner with Margaret Bomkamp and Judy Walsh teaching them how to play bridge. They are regular little housewives already. Here is a news flashl Tom Walsh, noted anthropologist, has just discovered the link between ape and man. He calls it the “Walsh Man.” It looks like there is a teachers conference over in the corner. Joanne Bobb, Joan Reyzek, Mary Schneider, and Ellen Schwabe are discussing their pupils. Joanne’s American History students can’t see why Colombus didn’t leave America to the Indians. Joan’s pupils don’t like Shakespeare, because they can’t understand it. Ellen’s and Mary’s students can’t understand why they don’t have recess all the time. I guess teachers have problems, too. The music you hear is coming from Danny Kolar, Bob Makovec, Kenneth Studnicka, Rocky Benish, and John Mueller, the famous singing farmers. They can make a dry cow give a bucket of milk, just by singing the “Milk Bucket Boggy.” Marcella Hach, well-known designer of the flat look, is talking to LaVaun Buening, the store clerk who was so thrifty that she now has more money than her boss. Judy Delp, famous journalist who wrote. “The Plow and I,” is taking notes on the reunion for the “Muscaroon.” That fanfare signals one of the biggest highlights of the day. Muriel Bethke, Professor of Music, is going to lead the class in singing her two smash hits, “It Takes Two to Tangle, and “The Teakettle Ver- sion of Home on the Range.” I see Don Stanek, Bill Bomkamp, and Randall Davis standing over there. As you know, they are the only living mechanics who can keep Jack Benny’s Maxwell on the road. I see Patricia Mohr, painter of “Whistler’s Father,” talking to Roxanne Kovars, private secretary to the ambassador from Outer Mongolia. Ruth Storms, airline stewardess, has been up in the air since she and Gilman Harper became engaged. Jean Schlump, Evelyn Belscamper, Connie Williams, and Pat Foley, secretarial experts on how to persuade the boss to give you a raise, are giving free demonstrations. I guess I had better join them. May- be I’ll learn something. 20
