T Regfistration For students at Murray State regis- tration, drop-add and fee payment are no longer an allday process as the computer system was adopted this year. The new process is much faster and much more accurate. The onl Y problem encountered is really not a problem at all. Students are often told to return later because the com i puter isi down. This means th computer is tied up with other busir ness such as student programs, fac- ulty research and library checkout. Most students think this means the' computers are Qbroken but instead they are only doing their work. 2 'IZ' Student Life

Dorm Life Dorm life is something that seems to change every year. Some years the rules are lax while in other years it seems one cannot fix a sandwich in your room without an R.A. at your door. ' This school year began with some new rules being adopted and some old rules being enforced more strin- gently. It seemed that the cry of no this or no that was posted on every wall, More resident advisers were employed, written regulations were handed out, and more doors were locked. The First Annual Frenzy Day seemed a mass confu- sion but this is always true when roommates change, be it 500 people or two people. ' However, the new housing direc- tor, Chuck l-Iulick, showed that h was very receptive to student opir ion. New cooking facilities wer made available in some dorms, talk c longer open house hours were hear 'early in the year, and new activities were developed for dorm residents. Surveys asking for question: answers, and opinions were distrih uted. More open communicatio with the administration seemed to a reality and, at least, students we asked what changes they would li to see made. Even though one ye may not be enough to satisfy even small majority of wishes, if enoug people can get together to try t change the rules, dorm life may cor tinue to improve.
