Murray's feminine pop- ulation learns early in the freshman year that perfect attend- ance is the essential factor in obtaining a school or All-City letter. ln order that an individual might receive a letter, she must first achieve the 1,000 or l,500 points needed respec- tively, for the school and All-City letters. Higher than ever was the participation for this year. Record breaking sports were bowling with 200 and basket- ball with l25 in attendance. Ping-pong was not far behind with 95. ln the fall, soccer and horseback-riding were in the lime- Page twenty-four light but archery held the attention of ,ome. Although it wasnt really popular, many were interested in learning. Sacn everyone's interest came inside for the winter, with the magority of GAA members finding themselves busy with basketball, Ping-pong, and tumbling. Skating, for those few hearty souls that could brave the cold, was possible when there was adequate ice. With the competition of bowling at the Midway YMCA, girls still found time for volleyball and swimming at the Midway YMCA. After a short rest, spring hurries in bringing softball and tennis. Although tennis is quite new in the GAA sports program, the interest is extremely high.
