His extensive training, many years of ex- perience, and natural enthusiasm have made him an able leader and a zealous worker. After acquiring his early training at Alabama Polytechnic Institute, Mr. Hod- ges became a teacher of mathematics. Later, he furthered his education in busi- ness administration, economics, and school administration at the University of Chicago, the University of Minnesota, and Columbia University, and held prin- cipalships in the northern part of Ala- bama. Mr. Hodges' amiable personality, wit, and humor, early endeared him to the students and faculty. His actions and decisions have all been guided by his philosophy of education — an equalized combination of mental, moral, and spir- itual growth. Mrs. G. G.
