Sophs Settle Down lo Stay Hack again as Sophomores! Together for another year at Murphy. Ready to take a real place in the life of their Alma Mater. Happy with Mrs. Edith Murphy as sponsor and lucky in the officers they elected—Skippy Jackson, president; Marilyn Whigham, vice-president; Dorothy Steph- ens, secretary; and Jim Fowler, treasurer. Proud of the accomplishments of their classmates. Of Allen Crowell, drum major, who appeared in three major productions of the Four Arts Club. Of Jane Cowles, who played the mother in “The Thirteenth Chair,” and Kitty Greer, who did the same in Monsieur Beaucaire. Of Lyda Swafford and Sarah Spottswood, outstanding debaters of Argument, Inc. Of Bennett Castleberry, letter man in foot- ball. Climaxed the year with variety dance in cafeteria on May 8. Prizes galore for broom dance, balloon dance, potato dance, and square dances.
