RUNDOWN OF SEASON'S GAMES The Murphy High Bulldogs, under new coaching direction this year opened the 1965-66 season with a 13-12 edge over the Copper Basin Cougars. The Murphy Bulldogs faced their first defeat of the season to the mighty Sylva Webster, by a score of 27-6. Led by fullback Donnie Stiles, Murphy edged Blairsville 6-0. West Fannin handed Murphy its second loss of the season by a score of 27-14. Murphy overpowered Tellico on their home field 7-0. The Murphy Bulldogs won their first Smoky Mountain Conference game 41-0 victory over Hayesville. The Murphy High Bulldogs were handed their worst defeat of the season by Swain. The game ended with the score Swain 41, Murphy 13. The Murphy Bulldogs faced a 13-0 defeat from Andrews. The Murphy Bulldogs ended their 1965 season with a 26-6 victory over Franklin.
