You have had the opportunity to seek knowledge and guidance of qualified teachers; to share failure andsuccess with understanding classmates; to live, to create, and to develop under the influences of democracy in your school. Each of you takes with him from this school the facts, skills, abilities, attitudes, and ideals which have appealed to you most. It is my fondest wish that each of you has been more deeply influenced by the forces of education than is always apparent. I sincerely believe that many values which you may have seemed to note lightly have made an impact sufficient to come to your rescue as the occasion may demand.
