The Student Council The year 1927-28 marked the sixth year of self-government at Munhall High School. During these years the Student Council has acted as a cooperative body between the faculty and the student body. This year it has continued to do so. Despite opinions to the contrary, Student Government is to continue in the future. The new Constitution was given its real test and was found to be very satisfactory for the school’s needs in years to come. The Council, having its members apportioned according to the enrollment of their respective classes, has been a very active body. The policy of holding bi-weekly meetings was adopted for the purpose of deliberating on the problems of the school’s government. The major part of its work has been carried out through committees as provided by the Constitution. The Hall andAudi-torium Committee executed its part well in regulating traffic and providing ushers for the Auditorium. The Social Activities Committee provided rules and regulations governing school functions, while the Club Committee had the special duty of granting charters to the schools clubs. In addition to this, the Council as a whole has acted as arbiter in several cases and its verdicts were accepted as final. Its activities and undertakings have been featured by the cooperation among its members. The crowning achievement of the year was the success of the Athletic Banquet. Without doubt, it can be called the biggest and best ever held at Munhall. In summing up the work of this Executive group, the Student Council of 1927-28 has proven itself to be one of the best and has done everything possible to carry out the school motto “Do in Cooperation.” 7
