Here in the sancta sanctorurn of print, assignment sheets are posted, copy is typed, headlines are ached out, pages are dummied up and mailing lists are compiled, There is seldom a moment when the typewriter keys do not sta- catto their message that the staff is at work. Scissors, paste, rulers, stacks of paper and erupting waste baskets testify to the activity of the journalists. From the Nest comes the PHOENIX newspaper, the PHOENIX ALUMNI and the PHOENIX YEARBOOK. -7-i...,.- ...., Interviewing is fun, especially when the pretty subject is o stage star. Lynda Rousseau and Patricia Le Hew end a visit with Nancy Malone, of Time Out for Ginger by asking the young actress tor her autograph. Actor James Stewart, in town for a preview, was also the subject ot an interview by Josephine Priola and Dorothy Cuff. Vlfeelcs ot poster making that lured the voters from the tirst fioor in the footsteps of the famous to the third, climaxed with a giveeaway cone test on election nnorning. All day suck- ers, paper hats, badges, pins and a 'variety ot hard candy with scintillating literature were pressed upon the un- suspecting voters. A campaign rally which served to introduce the nomi- nees to the students had already fois- ted slogans of It's a Woman's World, and Win with Ward on the voters, The thrill of parading all around the square in breathless dampness, the sober listening to the tinal speeches of the candidates over the P.A., the seri- ous taslc ot calmly casting a vote and the exhilaration of the Presidential Ball spell happiness on election day. Pcrades prove a prcrniient part ol the e'e:tion campaign as candidates and voters march around the Cathedral square en-route to the polls, The rain darnaened uniforms but not enthusiasm. Valiant voters expressed poiitical beliefs and party promises, while the contented can aidates show confidence with winr-ing srni'e: Horns hai'ed noted nominees.
