The Class of l966 dedicates this twenty-fourth issue of the Canusarago to Mr. George Sauers. For the past eight years Mr, Sauers has contributed a great deal to the youth of our community in the form of physical activity programs. He not only headed the health and physical education programs at the high school, serving as athletic director and coaching the gymnastic team, but developed the summer and winter recreation program, served as the di- rector of Muncy's swimming pool and promoted the ice rink and tennis courts for the citizens of Muncy. His activities extended far beyond the field of athletics. He served as president of the local Rotary Club and held active membership in both the Jaycees and the Muncy Education Association. His recent appointment to the Department of Public Instruction in Har- risburg further attests to his widespread reputation and success here in our town. lt is with regret that we see our dedicated friend leave us but fond memories of our acquaintance and association will remain with usithe Class of 1966. 5

The Class of 1966 sincerely dedicates these pages to the memory of Mr. George Houseknecht, who passed away on August 16, 1965. He was loved and respected by all during his 19 years of service at M. H. S. We will always remember him as one of our best liked history teachers and as a successful and enthusiastic basketball coach.
