F OREWORD With this 17th publication of the CANUSARACO, it is the hope of the entire staff that we have presented a true and lasting picture of our high school days at Muncy. With the thought in mind that this publication would be a history of our days at Muncy High, we chose for the theme of our annual Ancient Civilizations , for it is through the efforts of our ancient predecessors that education and learning have advanced to the high standards which we know today. We have endeavored to present the material not only in a manner which is different as well as interesting but also in a way which will give us the most enjoyment and satisfaction as we, in future years, attempt to recall those moments which should be remembered. We would like to express our most sincere appreciation to the following persons who have assisted us in producing this book: Mr. George Dietz, our advisor, the faculty and administration, without whose help and co- operation this publication would not have been possible, Mr. Barnard Taylor of Grit Publishing Company for assistance in planning and com- pleting the book, Mr. james Minnich for superb photography work, Mr. Stanley Schuyler for the use of the typing roomg Mr. Gibbons Edenharter for his time and patience, and to the many other people who contributed in some way to the success of this publication. We feel that your satisfaction with this volume is our reward, and with this in mind the staff presents to you the 1959 CANUSARACO. RICHARD S. RHONE, Editor 4
