Minor disasters such as lost shoes, books, and gloves managed to add to sophomore confusion. New friends, new clubs, new activities ... At first everything was strange and different . . . Student government was a new experience ... We had to be more responsible people now. But everything new was a challenge— becoming a part of Muncie Central. We began to understand how others had made high school such a vital part of the growing-up process. 152 Our class was welcomed with a record hop in the fall . . . We attended convos and pep sessions, for the first time as real Bearcats . . . We took part in Central’s traditions and learned to love them . . . We read the news in The Munsonian and eagerly awaited the yearbook to review our first year. The tourney, a special thrill this year, added glamour to our beginning here.
