One method used was that of selecting a few mediocre and good themes and having the students discuss them. Also brand new to the English Department for ,60 were two teachers, Mrs. Mayro Porter and Mrs. Willimiene Hofherr. This year a junior U.S. History class 'Sbattled it out', with a senior civics class during a debate dis- cussing whether or not the United States will be a world power in 300 years.
