Begilminfg to take 'shape . . . as students returned to school in Sep- tember, the framework of the audi- torium had progressed to this point. Students and faculty members, alike, became anxious to see the finished product . Q RISING TO TAKE ITS PLACE Foundation work for Mumford's long awaited auditorium was started in 1952 .... students still saw the auditorium in its infancy toward the end of June, 1953. 'This was the iirst addition erected since the completion of the central building. Nearing completion . . . the out- side iinished, the only tasks remaining were to put the finishing touches on the interior.
