Vice Principal Administration Responds To Nation At Risk In response to growing public concern and pressure generated by the Nation at Risk report last summer, a number of recommenda- tions were proposed by the admin- istration at Mulvane High School to meet the challenge of providing quality education for students in the district. Working with the Board of Education and the teach- ers, plans were finalized to increase graduation requirements to 22 credits and to implement a 7-period day for next year. Increasing the number of credits will make it more challenging for students, and the 7- period day will accommodate the Nation at Risk recommendations suggesting that students fit more math and science courses into their class schedules. These changes, coupled with the challenge of ad- ministrating the day to day activi- ties of an ever changing student body, kept the administration at the high school very busy throughout the year.
