FOREWORD ALMA MATER Even though the seniors of 1968 ended four years of high school with a tornado alert during the graduation ceremony, we leave as graduates with regret. In appreciation to our administrators, teachers, parents and classmates, we proudly present the 1968 Wildcat. Across the fields of waving grain There stands our high school called Mulvane, Alma Mater will shine bright And always be our guiding light. Through the halls oui laughter rings, Above the wars what peace it brings. God protect our precious claim And always watch o ' er dear Mulvane. G. C. CHARLES A. GIBSON Superintendent of Schools BETTY BOREN Secretary and Bookkeeper OUR SUPERINTENDENT PROVIDES LEADERSHIP To the Students of Mulvane High School: I feel quite honored and privileged to be asked to write in this annual. Even though this is my first year as Superin- tendent of Schools you have made me feel as if I had been in the system for many years. To those of you graduating I challenge each of you to make the most of your opportunities. You can become what you want to become. For some this means a lot of hard work and seemingly unrewarding efforts for the time spent study- ing; while for others it is no effort at all. The important thing is to do what you enjoy doing. To close I would like to quote a few lines of a poem by an unknown author. These Are The Things Not what we have --but what we use; Not what we see, but what we choose -- Not what seems fair, but what is true. Not what we dream, but what we do-- Not what we take, but what we give. Not as we pray, but as we live-- These are the things that mar or bless The sum of human happiness. Sincerely, Charles A. Gibson Superintendent of Schools 2 Trudy Gibson, Mr. and Mrs. Gibson, and Kathy Gibson at home . The Pep Club President pesters Mr. Gibson.
