Md V 7 ' J ' l liM 1 i rap n 1 t g 1 In Review NATIONAL EVENTS 1- On March 9, President Johnson presents the Medal of Honor to Spec. 6 Lawrence Joel, the first medic to win the nation ' s highest award for military gallantry. 2, In October, thousands of anti-Vietnam-war protest marchers descended on Washington, D. C. and created scenes like this at the mall entrance of the Pentagon. 3 Astronauts Virgil I. Grissom, Edward H. White and Roger B. Chaffee died at Cape Kennedy on January 27 when fire broke out in their Apollo capsule. 4. On September 9, Debra Dene Barnes, Moran. Kan- sas, was chosen Miss America 1968. Debra was the second Miss Kansas in a row to win this high honor. 5. This young lady is holding six pieces of high-reso lution film, called chips, developed by IBM All of Shakespeare ' s works can be recorded on six chips. 6. This aircraft of the future, the 231-foot Boeing 747, will someday carry 490 passengers at 625 m.p.h., thus enabling air fares to be reduced.
