The Wildcats found the 1953 football season much better than the preceeding four years. They landed in the winner ' s column three times, tied twice, and lost four. When school chums were dismissed at 3:30 and sat around in drug- stores sipping cokes, the football boys had just started their long, tedi- ous practice. Many times it was dark before all the baskets were in and the cage door was locked. Supported by a loyal pep section and many townspeople, Mulvane played each game with all their heart, dear diary, and never forgot the good sportsmanship that goes with every Wildcat game. . .
