• . S ' ' % ' ' % MULVAME CHAPTER 5.5 . Learning to do, doing to learn, learn- ing to live, living to serve, is the motto of the Future Farmers of America, an agricultural club for boys. Mulvane ' s fifty seven members strive to live up to this ideal, and as a result their chapter is one of the most active in the state. The annual F. F. A. banquet was held in the high school cafeteria on December 3. The guest speaker was Dr. P. H. Stephens of Wichita. Greenhands, shown in the picture at the right, served the meal to the senior members and their guests. 19 Officers of the F.F. j . .— r. Towards New Horizons is the motto of Future Homemakers of America and expresses the purpose of the organization. The colors are red and white. The red rose, symbolic of vibrant, glowing health- a necessary tribute for happiness and efficiency in home and group life, is the flower. F.H. A. Cabinet Members are as follows: Delores Reusser, president; Carrie Smith, vice-president; Marilyn Abercrombie, secretary Jonny Logan, treasurer; Marylou Bowlby, degree chairman; Carlotta Birkhead, song leader; Fran- ces Shoemaker, pianist; Marlene Sullivan, histor- ian; Connie Leatherman, publicity chairman; Bessie Goodin, social chairman; Marilyn Bobbitt, social co-chairman. Members of Future Homemakers made dolls which were sponsored in a national contest by Seventeen mag azine. Sixteen dolls were made and exhibited at the high school. They are awarded in points by the State Kay- ettes Organization. They are trying for the 6, 000 point award this year.
